Hello dear visitor,
we are pleased that you have found the website of our club. The Eishin-Ryu community is growing all over the world, so we decided it would be a good idea to provide at least some information in English. We assume that you are already practicing Iaido in one way or another, which means that we can skip all the basic introductory stuff (“what is Iaido?” and so forth). Rather, we will give you some specific information about our club and our association.
We are a group of about 20 Iaidoka practicing Muso Jikiden Eishin-Ryu (Seitokai / ZNIR). Our local sensei is Norbert Krokowski (Godan Seitokai, as well as Yondan ZNKR Kendo). Our practices are held in Münster, a lovely city in the northwest of Germany – about 60 km north of the “Ruhrgebiet”.
Our dojo is named Esaka Dojo Münster and is one of the 10 Dojos which are organized in the German Muso Jikiden Ryu Association (hp). Chief instructor of our association is Gerald Eisenack Sensei (Kyoshi 7. Dan, Berlin; first authorized by the 21. Soke Fukui Tarao). We are members of the Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Seitokai and the All Japan Iaido Federation (ZNIR).
The name of our dojo is meant to express our deep gratitude and respect for Esaka Sensei (Hanshi 10. Dan, ZNIR Vice President). Sensei has been one of the crucial figures in bringing Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu to Germany. Sensei has shown great personal commitment by teaching yearly seminars in Germany, starting from the early 1980s. We are very thankful for his enduring effort and do our best to live up to his demanding teachings.
If you ever visit Münster - and we can only invite you to do so - you are very welcome to join us in our practice! In case you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
